My girlfriend hates hotdogs and made me go back to this place a SECOND time...
This isn't your run of the mill ballpark/Nathan's dogs and boy am I glad it isn't. There is an extensive selection of dogs and toppings you can choose from, as well as their combo creations.
I had the gyoza dog and linguisa sausage. The Gyoza dog tasted pretty much how you would expect and came in a natural casing. Mine wasn't cooked long enough, so it ended up a little chewy. The linguisa sausage was great, but I'm a sucker for linguisa anyways.
The owners here are passionate about their business and provide exceptional service to everyone that visits. They came out to ask (genuinely) how everything was and to make sure you were good.
Even if you aren't the biggest fan of hotdogs, please go check this place out. It's like everything right on a triple D's show. -

First time trying this place with a bunch of Co workers. It's amazing. The food, the atmosphere, the poodle are all top notch. I guess their name is perfect.
Tried the Big Boy dog, and co workers got veggie dogs, Angus burgers, loaded up fries... We basically went ham on the menu. It was all great.
Orders were up quick and they bring your order right to your table after you order at the counter. Menu is extensive with multiple tips of hot dogs, burgers, and even plate lunches. Something for everyone with veggie options as well.
The seating area is enormous. Many tables and chairs and a huge TV too. Air conditioned and so much room. Carpeted area keeps the noise down too so you can hear your friends unlike some lunch places.
We will definitely be going back for lunch there more often now. I need to try those burgers! -

While visiting the Big Island of Hawaii and after a long day of hiking, my girlfriend and I (and another couple) stopped by Big Island Top Dogs. As we pulled up we all looked as we had made a mistake because it was of the beaten path in a strip mall that did not look like it saw a lot of traffic. That being said, we were all starving and decided we needed to eat before we snapped on each other because we were all HANGRY!
We started walking towards the door and a gentled was exiting. We asked him about the place and he said, "Best Dayum Dogs in town!" Well that was promising but the jury was still out.
When you first walk in, the choices are overwhelming. There is a chalkboard to the left of the counter with specials on it and to the right of the counter there are several standard choices or you can build your own dog. Since nothing on the standard menu jumped out at me, I decided to build my own. I originally ordered the bratwurst with banana peppers, onions and sauerkraut but after I sat down, I was informed that they didn't have anymore and while I was disappointed it certainly convinced me that this place sells a lot of hotdogs. So I went with the polish sausage instead.
Fast forward to the food, it was certainly not your typical hot dog and I now have to revaluate my grilling skills when it comes to hotdogs. My hotdogs have never tasted this good and while I've always figured there's only so much you can do with a hot dog, this place certainly know what they are doing.
I also tried these fried corned beef hash hush puppies. I love corned beef hash so I gave it a try. They were okay but certainly not my favorite.
The staff was extremely pleasant, the establishment was clean and there was plenty of room and space to eat in peace and relax.
You all should certainly stop by and pay them a visit. If you do, tell' em Drew sent ya

Our favorite gourmet hot dog place to go! We first discovered this locally owned business at the Maku'u Farmers Market every Sunday. Owners Mike and Robin are very friendly and so much Aloha! No longer there, they have successfully opened at their new location in Hilo off of Laukapu St in a small business center with very limited parking on the weekdays. There is side street parking, but cars do come and go.
Their menu selections did grow! From just hot dogs & burgers to desserts and plate lunches! They have variety hot dog flavors and choice of buns and so many condiments to load onto your hot dog! They also offer vegetarian hot dogs and burgers for us vegetarian people!
They have expanded their business space with more tables to sit to where you can now book private parties. They have a huge tv to watch and some dartboards to play.
Service is great. The prices are reasonable. Desserts are Ono! Public restroom and very limited parking.
